Degree requirements
All students enrolled in an accredited initial teacher education program are required to sit and meet the Literacy and Numeracy Test for Initial Teacher Education (LANTITE) standard prior to graduation.
You'll need to provide evidence of an attempt at the LANTITE by the end of your first year, which is measured by 8 completed courses/units of study. For First Nations language speakers, recognition of First Nations language proficiency by a relevant cultural authority is an acceptable alternative standard.
Prior to commencing your final professional experience placement, you must demonstrate a successful pass result in all components of the LANTITE.
You will need to complete 90 days of supervised professional experience placementsÌýto gain valuable practice in prior-to-school settings and classrooms working with babies, toddlers, infants and young children.Ìý
At least 50% of the supervised placements need to be attended in Australian early childhood and/or school settings and you must be able to meet the physical and other professional requirements of professional experience placements within this degree.

National Child Safety Training
National child safety and child protection training is mandatory for all individuals working or volunteering (including students) in an early childhood education and care (ECEC) service regulated under the National Quality Framework (NQF).
In Queensland, completion of the Child Safety Foundation training module satisfies the child safety and child protection training requirements. This training must be completed before attending placement.
Students in other Australian states or overseas must ensure they have complied with the equivalent requirements and registered the details with 91²Ö¿â Work Integrated Learning (WIL).
